ROUTE field guide

How to Play ROUTE: Cover Every Playable Yard

Learn the complete ROUTE rules for receiver pairs, defenders, crossings, and full-field coverage.

Read the complete field

Count receiver-target pairs, blocked cells, and narrow lanes before drawing. A path that reaches its target can still make the rest of the field impossible.

Draw without crossings

Drag from a receiver through adjacent dots toward its target. Keep every route separate and out of defender cells.

Check coverage

The final rule is easy to miss: every playable dot must disappear beneath a valid path. Connected pairs alone do not finish the field.

Try it on a field

Open ROUTE on iPhone and change one path at a time. Every playable field is solver-validated, so a failure is useful evidence about corridor ownership, endpoint access, or coverage.
